We received an unprecedented number of submissions from all over the world and our editorial panel is making its way through the shortlisted pieces. We hope to announce all final selections through the month of May, June, July and August 2023.
If you have not received any correspondence from us thus far, that means your work has sadly not made the final list.

how is The Face Project going to work?
Over the next 28 weeks, one oil portrait will be posted every week.
Write a short story or poem about any (or all) of them and send it to : thefaceproject@artam.ar
Out of the stories and poems received, one entry will be chosen to pair with each painting.
The final selection of 28 entries will be announced here, within fifteen days of the final posting.
These works will then be published along with the paintings in a stunning one-of-a-kind worldwide publication.

submission guidelines
Send in your stories/poems to thefaceproject@artam.ar
The subject line must contain the number of the portrait your piece relates to.
Each entry must be no more than 1000 words and must be entirely original.
In order to be eligible for final selection, your entry must in some way connect to and embody the spirit of the portrait it was written for.
You may send in multiple entries up to a maximum of 28, limited to one per posting.
Each entry must be previously unpublished.
You must be over 18 years old to submit an entry.
If you would like to write your piece in a language other than English, please do get in touch.
The final selection will be made by an editorial panel chosen by The Face Project and the panel’s decision will be final.
The selected writers/poets will be notified by email by the end of April, 2023.

How do I submit an entry?
Send your story/poem to thefaceproject@artam.ar
What details should I include in my submission email?
Enter the portrait number in the subject line of your email.
You can copy and paste your entry into the body of the email or attach it as a text document (*.docx, *.doc, *.pdf, *.txt etc.).
Can I submit multiple entries?
Yes, you can. Please make sure each entry is in a separate submission email.
Can I submit entries for previously posted paintings?
Yes, you can submit multiple entries and for any of the paintings posted on this page. If your entry is shortlisted, you will receive an acknowledgement email.
Do I have to write in English?
No, your entries can be in any language of your choice.
